Many non-profits work with volunteers to achieve their goals. Keeping an oversight of their volunteers’ skills and availability, can be a challenge. At Antwerp’s Herita, a large amount of historic sites and buildings are managed, mostly with the support of a vast number of volunteers providing services like garden and building maintenance, receiving guests and tourists and guiding people on walks through the environment.
Managing that has been a challenge; CiviCRM didn’t really offer enough support. It requires enabling matching what they know about their volunteers and what is required for each separate session, workshop, activity during a weekend event at the Palace on de Meir the Abby at Herkenrode or any of the other places.
So, we started on volunteerplanning:
• skills documentation for volunteers
• required skills for an event or sessions at an event
• document volunteer availability in general and for specific sessions and events
• matching the lot and enable managing changes.
